Better late than never!
The nice folk over at Welsh Country magazine were kind enough to do an article on us in their Christmas edition. This has been on my 'to do list' for a while, don't know why it took me so long to get it onto the site.

New range of plaques/signs
We have had a delivery of some new items such as these plques/tiles that can be decorated as a door sign. Ideal for a child's room, it can be decorated with any colour or design you like. And, we have a huge selection of shapes that can also be painted and attached to the item. This example shows some typcally 'girlie' stuff, but we also have boys things like skate boards, planes and various items of sporting equipment!

Ultimate Wedding Day Keepsake
On March 4th 2007, Helen attended the first Wedding Fayre held at the Conrah Country House Hotel in Abersystwyth. She showed a range of Wedding Platesthat she designed. They are signed by your guests and fired and make a great and lasting memory of your special day. Also, help entertain the children - have a Pottery Painting Party at the Wedding! Prices start from £15.00 a head to include all materials.
And before it all, why not have a Pottery Painting Hen Party! Great fun and something totally different. Bring your own wine and nibbles or ask me about catering.

Steph and I visited Plascrug Primary School in Aberystwyth on Monday December 11th and 45 children painted Christmas designs on plates.
We had the pleasure of delivering them today (Friday 15th) and the children were very keen to see how their work turned out.
It was original, bright and colourful and we ALL had a lot of fun in the painting and handing out! See the pictures here. |

PIGGIES! I have giant piggy banks that you can either paint yourself (and during November, this helps Cancer Research) or you can commission me to paint one for you.
Here I am just adding some nice lips and eyelashes to this little lady. As with all my other work, I just love big, bold colours and my favourite piggy banks are Pink (of course) with nice body colours and lots of red lippy! See more pictures here. |

I have been busy recently designing new items - Beautiful Bowls and Dramatic Dishes! This is a work in progress as I seem to get far too many ideas to actually paint them all!
You can see examples of some of the new work at my On-line Shop.
I hope you enjoy them! |

We have just installed a new, bigger, more high tech kiln - the Workhorse 270, made by Cromartie in Stoke. It has more than twice the capacity of our existing kiln, it weighs almost 300 kilos and it needs it's own dedicated power supply! It means we can fire bigger items and more of them, so our visitors can create even bigger, more dramatic dishes and beautiful bowls!
Here you can see both kilns in our new kiln room that has been built as part of our seemingly constantly evolving studio. |

Founded in 1866, Ysgol Brynherbert in Llanrhystud was one of 4 schools in Ceredigion that ceased teaching recently, due to falling pupil numbers. Before it closed, I visited the school and the children and staff painted a commemorative plaque.
Head teacher Llinos Griffiths, said she would be having a "quiet cup of tea" with parents on a "sad occasion" |

I have been involved with a series of workshops to help the Aberystwyth Stroke Club. This is a wonderful organisation that helps people rebuild their lives after suffering a stroke. You can get more information on the activities of the club by clicking on the image to the right. Here are some pictures of the club members painting ceramics! |

Almost 42,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK. making it by far, the commonest cancer (excluding non melanoma skin cancer) in women. More money is needed to help fight this disease and I will also be organising a series of fundraising events to support Cancer Research. Please either call me or send an email or check back here for details.
To find out more about the work they do, please visit the Cancer Research UK web site. |
